HUDSON COUNTY -- NJ Transit plans to increase most of its fares 25 percent starting May 1. Hudson-Bergen Light Rail Tickets would climb from $1.90 per trip to $2.40. The frequency of some routes will also be reduced, based on ridership.

Public hearings are scheduled for later this month, including in Secaucus at the Lautenberg Rail Station at County Road & County Avenue, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, March 26.

The transit agency cited a looming $300 million deficit.

As usual NJTransit will pass on the expense to the hard working commuters. I hope our new Governor starts cutting the fat from all the

wasteful top paying management(or mismanagement)

jobs created that DONT serve a purpose.

I feel that lightrail is expensive enough as is, but it makes sense to cut frequency. You see so many empty rails riding around.
