BAYONNE AND BEYOND -- The Bayonne police have concluded their manhunt with the arrest of two more suspects in connection with the July 3 beating that left a 22-year-old Bayonne man in a coma.

The police arrested Derrick Hilton on Wednesday after they found him in the back of a van allegedly headed to New York State.

On Friday morning, police arrested a 15-year-old Bayonne boy at his grandmother’s home in Newark and took him into custody.

“This investigation is not over,” said police Captain Walter Rogers. “We’re going to go through this to see if there needs to be additional charges of obstruction against others.”

Hilton was processed at Central Judicial Processing Court in Jersey City on Thursday and because he is considered a risk for flight, is being held on $50,000 bail.

The 15-year-old arrested on Friday morning is currently being processed in the Hudson County Juvenile Court in Jersey City.

This brings to nine the number of people who have been charged with the beating that left Dawid Strucinski in a coma after he tried to break up a fight near 14th Street and Broadway in Bayonne. Strucinski has made progress since, but he is still unconscious at Jersey City Medical Center.

Great job by the Bayonne Police! Now let's put an end to this type of violence in Bayonne and make a real example out of these animals.
